(Best
guess, after watching the whole show. Really no way to tell where it
is.)
HUNT [OC]: Almost done, Mister Harper.
HARPER: Keep pouring it in, boss. We're a heartbeat away from a
bouncing baby ball of exotic matter. Just don't get any on you.
(Alarm, bang, and Hunt comes flying out of a conduit onto the catwalk.)
HARPER: Oh, crap. Boss? Did any splash on you? That stuff can be lethal
if it gets in your bloodstream.
(Harper rolls Hunt over to see green goo eating through his protective
gauntlets.)
HARPER: Oh, double crap.
HUNT: Harper. Oh. Listen to me. You, you have to
(Hunt passes out.)
HARPER: Have to? Have to what? We have to what? Er, it looks fine. Just
a blowout, but you? Man, you're heavy. Guys? Beka? Trance? Anybody.
Dylan's down, big time.
[Limbo]
(In a
white space, a man in a white gown is playing 3D Go.)
BEKA [OC]: Look at me. Stay with us.
[Slipstream
control]
(Seen
through a blurred filter.)
HARPER: Boss, hold on.
BEKA: We're losing him. His heart's swelling. Dylan, talk to me.
HARPER: We've got to cut him open, now.
BEKA: Trance? Trance, come in.
HARPER: We need her now! Like, yesterday!
BEKA: Rhade, do you hear me? Get Trance.
(Only Hunt can see the exotic matter generator pressure dial heading
into the red.)
[Saloon]
(Hunt
wakes up with his face on the bar. Harper is telling jokes in the
background.)
HARPER: Two Perseids run into a bar, which is crazy, because you'd
think the second Perseid would have run around it. Magog runs into the
doctor's
RHADE: Come on, he's not that bad.
HARPER: I'm going to die in fifty nine seconds. The doctor says, I'll
be with you in a minute! Don't get me wrong, some of my best friends,
but I'd rather have a bottle in front of me than a frontal lobotomy.
Boom! That's what I'm talking about.
There's a big moron and a little moron sitting on a fence. The big
moron falls off. Why doesn't the little moron fall off? Because he's a
little more on.
RHADE: Okay, I take it back. He is that bad.
HUNT: The generator. The exotic matter generator! It's going to blow!
RHADE: Whoa, whoa, whoa. Easy, cowboy. The exotic matter generator? We
used the Andromeda's ramscoop to take care of that last week. Remember?
HUNT: Right. I guess I nodded off there. How long was I out?
RHADE: About ten minutes. But with Harper's routine, it seems more like
ten hours.
HARPER: I heard that.
RHADE: Oh. I'm sorry. I didn't realise you were finished. I must have
missed all the applause.
HARPER: Oh, ho, ho, ho. I'd like to see you get up there, funny pants.
At least you're dressed for it.
RHADE: I'd say don't quit your day job, but your bartending isn't any
better.
HUNT: How'd I get in here?
ELYSIAN: That's not the question we need to answer.
(The man who was wearing the white gown is now in leather and pointing
a pair of forcelances. Hunt's forcelances. He stuns everyone in the
saloon except Hunt.)
HUNT: Handy little weapons, aren't they?
ELYSIAN: A mere toy but a useful feature. An energy burst that
incapacitates all those but whom the lance is programmed to recognise.
HUNT: It's a DNA sniffer. It keeps the wielder safe.
ELYSIAN: In this case, it gives us some privacy.
HUNT: They're also supposed to incapacitate anyone who takes them from
me without asking politely first, so you mind telling me how you got
those?
ELYSIAN: We only have one thing to tell you. Evas are fees. See you
cave.
HUNT: Say again?
ELYSIAN: Evas are fees. See you cave.
HUNT: Huh. I hate to disappoint, But I don't know an Eva, no one's
going to see me cave, and the rest of that stuff is just stupid.
ELYSIAN: Wrong answer. If you don't understand, you don't get to stay.
What does this button do? Oh yeah. It disables the DNA sniffer.
(Hunt knocks a forcelance out of Elysian's hand, then they fight until
Hunt gets the other one.)
HUNT: All right. Now, where were we? That's right. You were just about
to tell me who the hell you are.
(Elysian faints. Rhade gets up.)
HUNT: That was weird, wasn't it?
RHADE: Yeah. That was weird.
(Rhade stabs Hunt with his boneblades.)
HUNT: Rhade.
(Rhade is now Elysian.)
ELYSIAN: Surprises even for us.
HUNT: Who are you?
ELYSIAN: We are Elysian. We're here to help you die. In the next life,
you'll understand. If you don't, then you'll die again,
and then you'll probably understand in the one after that. Hold onto
your sanity. It's already begun to slip.
[Slipstream

HARPER:
Boss? Come back to us. Boss?
BEKA: His heart's swelling.
TRANCE: Talk to me. I need you to stabilise him
HARPER: Pass me that.
TRANCE: Let's open the chest. Okay, Dylan, I need you to focus. Don't
fall asleep.
BEKA: Jeez! Dylan, stay awake.
HARPER: Listen to her. Dylan, listen to her!
BEKA: Dylan, do you hear me?
TRANCE: Dylan, focus.
[Med
deck]
(Hunt
wakes suddenly, throwing a punch.)
TRANCE: Ah! After what you've been through, I'd wake up swinging too.
HUNT: Harper's generator. It's going to blow.
TRANCE: No, it's okay. It's okay. Just relax. Everything will be okay.
HUNT: Do I know you?
TRANCE: Do you know your name?
HUNT: Dylan Hunt.
TRANCE: Good. Do you know where you are?
HUNT: It's er, the Andromeda, Med deck.
TRANCE: Good. Signs of improvement. Now, what can you tell me of the
incident?
HUNT: Incident. Rhade. He stabbed me with poisoned boneblades.
TRANCE: Close. You were poisoned, but it wasn't Rhade.
HUNT: Then who was it? Elysian.
TRANCE: Dylan, we had to operate. You were contaminated by a highly
toxic lubricant from the generator when you and Harper were trying to
make
HUNT: Exotic matter for Andromeda's exotic matter drive. Yeah, I
remember. But that was a week ago, and Rhade said
TRANCE: It was yesterday.
HUNT: Huh.
TRANCE: We had to operate, but there were complications.
HUNT: Who had to operate?
TRANCE: Beka, Harper, Doyle, and me. We had to rush you back to the
Andromeda, because Seefra just didn't have the right equipment
HUNT: Tell me who you are!
TRANCE: Okay. It would be better if you could reclaim these memories
yourself, but I'm Trance. We've known each other for quite some time,
Dylan.
Please try to remember. Your heart was swelling, and we had to cut open
your chest to relieve the pressure and give you a transfusion,
and you needed to remain awake. The levels of toxicity in your blood
were so high, we were afraid that if you lost consciousness,
we would lose you altogether.
HUNT: You still haven't explained why I don't remember you.
TRANCE: You underwent a mind wipe. You're suffering side effects from
it.
HUNT: Yeah. You're right. I am wiped.
TRANCE: We needed you to stay awake without anaesthetic for three hours
of the worst torture I've ever seen,
and the best thing that Harper could come up with was this mind wipe so
that it would erase it all from your memory.
You'd never have to think about it ever again.
HUNT: And I approved it?
TRANCE: Well, you, you begged for it, Dylan. It was awful.
HUNT: Something went wrong with the wipe.
TRANCE: Your gaps in logic, why you don't recognise me. I'm afraid it
did more harm than good.
HUNT: The blowout. We stopped it, right? I mean, nobody was harmed. You
did your best. You tried to shut it down, but I guess the exotic matter
had grown out of control.
HUNT: How many? How many?
BEKA: The Signa Eruh transport, and a few thousand on the ground.
HUNT: Damn.
[Command]
BEKA:
So, Dylan, do you recognise me?
HUNT: What's that supposed to mean?
BEKA: Trance filled me in.
HUNT: Yes, Beka, I know who you are. You look normal to me.
(Really? Because she's never worn clothes like that before.)
BEKA: Good. I'm glad you recognise at least one of your crew. What are
you looking for?
HUNT: An answer.
BEKA: Dylan, don't blame yourself for the blowout. Can't save them all.
ANDROMEDA [OC]: Scan complete. No High Guard records matching all
combinations of words Evas, fees, and cave. Further scans show no
matching records
in any of my systems or databases.
HUNT: That's impossible.
BEKA: Maybe I can help you. What exactly are you trying to find?
HUNT: Peace of mind.
(Then he staggers as if punched in the chest.)
BEKA: Trance?
[Slipstream
control]
BEKA:
Dylan? Can you hear me?
HARPER: Boss?
TRANCE: We need to stabilise him right now.
HARPER: Boss, hold on.
TRANCE: Focus on me. Focus on me, okay?
[Command]
ANDROMEDA
[OC]: Doyle, I'm picking up a message from Seefra One. Harper and Beka
are asking for Rhade and Trance. It is an emergency.
DOYLE: Opening override comm channel, Seefra One. Rhade, come in. Are
you there?
[Eureka
Maru]
RHADE:
I'm here. What's the problem?
DOYLE [OC]: I'm on Andromeda prepping the ramscoop
[Command]
DOYLE:
And I get a message that Harper and Beka need you and Trance. What's
going on?
[Eureka
Maru]
RHADE:
My comm's been jammed with this evac I'm trying to coordinate.
[Command]
DOYLE:
Something's going on in Harper's lab. It must be serious.
[Eureka
Maru]
RHADE:
She just left. Said she had to go. I wasn't paying much attention. You
know Trance. She's on a different frequency.
[Command]
DOYLE:
Well, they need you too.
[Eureka
Maru]
RHADE:
I'm gone. Here you go. Channel five eight three, Signa Eruh.
[Slipstream
control]
TRANCE:
Can you hear me?
BEKA: Stick with us.
HARPER: BPs dropping.
TRANCE: We need to stabilise him.
BEKA: Okay, I've got him.
TRANCE: Focus on me, okay?
BEKA: His heart's swelling.
TRANCE: Dylan, talk to me.
HARPER: We've got to cut him open, now.
[Med
deck]
(Hunt is
restrained on the bed.)
HUNT: It's that bad, huh?
BEKA: Worse. Okay, he's still alive. I've got work to do.
TRANCE: It must be body memory. Dylan, the only way to get through this
is to reverse the wipe. Unearth memories from the operation.
HUNT: All right. Fine. How?
TRANCE: Memory recall therapy, but I
HUNT: But what?
HARPER: Am I late for the party?
HUNT: Oh, great.
HARPER: Hey, don't blame me or my machine. You asked for the mind wipe.
HUNT: Easy for you to say when I can't remember any of it.
HARPER: Speaking of that, You also promised me the Andromeda in case
anything
HUNT: Don't hold your breath, Harper.
HARPER: Well, don't worry. I won't be doing any of the driving.
HUNT: Finally, some good news.
TRANCE: Now, the most important thing is to signal us if you feel like
you're going to pass out, because if you faint or if you fall asleep
while you're hooked up, you could plummet into a recursive comatose
state.
HUNT: That's what happened in the wipe, isn't it? I fell asleep.
(Trance nods.)
HUNT: Okay. Don't fall asleep. I got it, Trance.
TRANCE: Now, fortunately, we have someone who can help you get through
this.
HUNT: Who?
HARPER: Rocko! You're killing me.
(Enter Elysian, wearing Sembler's apron.)
HUNT: It's him. That's him! Trance, untie me! What are you waiting for?
Untie me right now! That's the guy! Come on!
HARPER: Boss, this is Rocko. Rocko. He works for me at the Oasis. He's
only served you, like, fifty gwaro or so.
TRANCE: Dylan, it's your memory. It's not working.
ELYSIAN: I know things might seem quite strange right now, a little bit
off, but I understand because the brain is my specialty. I study it as
my hobby. I actually helped Harper build this neural interpolator.
HARPER: Helped? No, no, no. He designed it. Trust me, there's a lot
more to this guy than saliva martinis. You are much safer with him
involved.
HUNT: Fine. Just get it over with.
ELYSIAN: All right. This won't hurt one bit. I promise.
(He fixes a device to the side of Hunt's head.)
ELYSIAN: Okay, guys, I need you to keep your eyes on the magnetic flux
density. It has to balance the output inductance field, okay?
HARPER: Got it.
(Trance and Harper go to a screen on the far wall. Elysian puts his
hand over Hunt's mouth.)
ELYSIAN: Evas are fees. See you cave. Understand?
HUNT: (muffled) Go to hell.
ELYSIAN: Well, I guess we'll see you in the next life.
[Limbo]
ELYSIAN:
We must not lose him. He must not remain still. We must propel him
onward. He must die.
[Slipstream
control]
HARPER:
Hold on.
BEKA: We're losing him.
TRANCE: Dylan
BEKA: His heart's swelling.
TRANCE: Talk to me. Focus on me, Dylan.
[Bedroom]
(Hunt is
deposited on the floor by a Route of Ages gateway. There are two single
beds, and Doyle is sitting on one of them staring at nothing.)
HUNT: Doyle?
(She leaps up and hugs him.)
DOYLE: Dylan! Oh, you found the tesseract field.
HUNT: Yeah. It wasn't on purpose.
DOYLE: I am glad to see you.
HUNT: Glad to see you too. Where are we?
DOYLE: I'm not sure.
HUNT: Well, how did you get here?
DOYLE: We were surveying the mines on Seefra Six. There was an ambush.
I was thrown through a tesseract field, and I've been here ever since.
HUNT: Ever since when?
DOYLE: I lost communication with your vocal to subaudio about sixty
years ago.
HUNT: Sixty years. Sixty years?
DOYLE: More than that. Closer to a hundred, I think. I was preserving
power. My chronograph may not be reliable.
HUNT: A hundred years. Oh, that's just fricking great. Story of my
life! All right. That's enough, Elysian, you hear me? I've had enough!
DOYLE: Who are you talking to?
HUNT: Some guy. I've had enough of his games. Five minutes ago, I was
on Med deck. An hour before that, I was on Seefra One in the saloon,
and that was a week after the blowout, although on Med deck, they told
me it had only been a day, and now you're telling me a hundred years
have gone by?
DOYLE: The tesseract may have manipulated your memories. It was most
likely a hallucination.
HUNT: Then whatever it is I'm smoking, I don't want any more.
DOYLE: Even I have found the line between artificiality and reality
blurred.
HUNT: Doyle, Harper's generator. The exotic matter generator. I
remember I was trying to shut it down, stop it from blowing. Do you
know what happened?
DOYLE: No. However, if you were trying to shut down a critical mass of
exotic matter that exceeded maximum containment, you would have
inadvertently caused two reactions and doubled the catastrophe.
HUNT: Well, let's hope I didn't do that. We've got to find a way out of
here.
(He goes to the barred window that looks out onto some trees.)
DOYLE: That's a hologram projected in a recess. We could be two
kilometres underground or drifting in space.
HUNT: Did you scan for
DOYLE: Life support routing and venting, yes. There are no passages in
or out of here bigger than the diameter of your forcelance. Dylan, I've
had years to find a way out. I didn't.
HUNT: So we're stranded.
DOYLE: For a very long time.
[Limbo]
ELYSIAN:
Something's wrong. How can he be nowhere?
[Slipstream
control]
RHADE:
You're not sure you can do it?
TRANCE: Well, I should. Yes, I can. I can.
RHADE: Seems like we don't have a choice.
BEKA: Stay with us. Stay with us.
RHADE: If you don't, I will.
TRANCE: Okay. Everyone, be prepared. This is going to smell foul.
RHADE: It can't smell any worse than it looks.
TRANCE: Okay, here goes. Hold him down, please!
RHADE: Hold on, hold on. Breathe!
(They crack open his chest.)
TRANCE: Be careful, please!
RHADE: Hang on, Dylan!
BEKA: Keep him stabilised.
RHADE: I got him. I got him.
[Bedroom]
ELYSIAN
[OC]: Evas are fees. See you cave.
(Water and bread are tesseracted in.)
DOYLE: The automation must have sensed you are organic.
HUNT: Took them long enough. Let's hope I don't have to wait another
three days for the next course.
DOYLE: Actually, it was six days.
HUNT: Why not? Evas are fees. See you cave.
DOYLE: What's that?
HUNT: It's er, my nightmare. Doyle, you said trying to shut down an
exotic matter reaction beyond maximum containment would be
catastrophic.
DOYLE: Once the tipping point is reached, physics cannot be denied. The
only option would have been an outlet, but that was just a
hallucination, Dylan.
HUNT: Maybe, but I can't shake this feeling that I still have a chance
to stop it from happening. People are going to die.
DOYLE: You don't always have to be everyone's hero, you know. Dylan,
your hand is shaking. Dylan! Dylan!
(Then he clutches his chest and collapses. He relives his operation as
the dial moves into the red.)
DOYLE: Welcome back, sleepyhead.
(Doyle is dripping water into his mouth.)
HUNT: How long was I out?
(There are five more glasses of water and loaves of bread on the
table.)
DOYLE: You don't want to know. You were saying some pretty strange
things.
HUNT: Strange dreams. They're starting to get the best of me.
DOYLE: I used to have dreams. Nightmares, really. It turned out they
were just Rommie's core memory fragments trying to surface.
Once I learned who I am, they went away. Believe it or not, I miss
them. I envy you that. Your dreams must be so vivid. I bet they tell
you a lot about yourself.
HUNT: If they do, They're not painting a very pretty picture.
DOYLE: Whatever the picture, I believe you can overcome it. I have a
lot of respect for you, Dylan. I would follow you to the end,
and that's not just the Rommie in me talking.
HUNT: Thank you, Doyle.
(Hunt kisses Doyle.)
DOYLE: We're really in a jam here.
HUNT: Yeah. Yes, we are. Well, speaking of jam, I could sure use some
to go with all that bread and water. Water. Doyle, the water.
Can you predict when the next tesseract delivery will be?
DOYLE: Yes, but the field is too small for
HUNT: The water will make it bigger. The reflection. If we can make a
big enough puddle at just the right angle.
A tesseract field is focused in the visible light spectrum. A
reflection would expand the length and width of the area of the puddle
in the field.
HUNT: Right.
DOYLE: Our probability of success should be at least twenty one
percent.
HUNT: My father always said, never bet on a long shot. Fortunately, I
only listened to my mother.
(Later, lying down in spoon position on the floor, with the water.)
HUNT: That's it.
DOYLE: Well, if worse comes to worse, we just got a little wet.
HUNT: I've been in worse positions before.
DOYLE: Dylan, this field could tesseract only inanimate items like
bread and water. It could
HUNT: Kill me, I know. But at least you'll be safe.
DOYLE: Then let
HUNT: Hey, this is all just a, just a hallucination, right?
(They are tesseracted away.)
[Slipstream
control]
HARPER:
Hang on, Dylan!
TRANCE: Hold on.
RHADE: Hold tighter!
HARPER: He's back.
TRANCE: One, two, three.
BEKA: Rhade, hold him. Rhade!
RHADE: I got him! I got him!
TRANCE: Dylan, focus.
[Limbo]
ELYSIAN:
We have him.
ELYSIAN 2: We'll bring him.
[Med
deck]
(Hunt
and Rhade sit up together.)
RHADE: Feels great, huh? A clear head. Just like taking out the trash.
HUNT: It's ASO. It's Argosy Special Ops.
RHADE: That's right. And that's about all you should remember if the
wipe was successful.
HUNT: Wipe? Declassification wipe. We used to use those on long form,
high security missions.
RHADE: Used to? We still do. Hopefully your Go skills haven't been
damaged. I think we were three for three before the op, right?
HUNT: Right, it was er, three games to three, or something like that.
(The med tech turns around. It is Elysian. He leaves and Hunt follows.)
RHADE: Not again.
[Corridor]
(Hunt
grabs Elysian by the shoulders and throws him into a ladder.)
HUNT: Hey.
(It is a different man.)
RHADE: Whoa, whoa! Easy. Easy. Easy. He always gets a little weird
after the wipes. You should hear about some of his dreams.
HUNT: Sorry. I thought you were somebody else.
RHADE: Dismissed.
HUNT: Look, Telemachus, I don't
RHADE: Telemachus? Who the hell's Telemachus? Not a bad name, though.
Maybe I'll give it to one of my grandkids, but for now, se'll just
stick with Gaheris.
HUNT: Gaheris? The Commonwealth.
RHADE: As strong as ever, thanks to us. Come on. Let's go get a drink.
I want to hear about those crazy dreams you have. Besides, we have to
go meet Sara.
HUNT: Sara?
RHADE: Your wife.
HUNT: My wife?
[Hunt's
quarters]
HUNT:
How long were we gone?
RHADE: A year and a half, Which explains all the hair. I told them to
cut mine like they did yours before I wake up.
It's unfitting for a man of my rank. I almost look like one of those
wretched Kodiak Pride, may they rest in peace.
To a Commonwealth so strong, it's practically a desk job.
(Hunt takes the offered drink.)
RHADE: What's wrong?
HUNT: Nothing. This is all feels so great. I guess I'm just waiting for
the other shoe to drop.
RHADE: There is no other shoe. To the Commonwealth.
HUNT: To the Commonwealth, and to all those things that I have missed
the most.
(The door opens behind them.)
RHADE: Speak of the devil, if she looked like an angel.
DOYLE: Darling! I've missed you!
HUNT: Doyle?
DOYLE: Who's Doyle?
RHADE: Er, his head's still a little mixed up from the wipe. Dylan,
this is your lovely better half, Sara. Remember? I would, if I were
you.
HUNT: What's going on here?
RHADE: What?
HUNT: Where am I? Come on, tell me, where the hell am I? All right,
whoever is controlling this nightmare, I want it to end right now.
DOYLE: Gaheris, I can't take this. Not again. I'm married to a mental
patient, and you promised he would be better this time.
(It is Doyle instead of Sara in the photograph.)
RHADE: And he will be. Just give him time. Maybe I should leave you two
alone.
(Rhade leaves.)
DOYLE: Why can't you remember me?
HUNT: I don't know. Maybe it's because I'm a mental patient. Look, I, I
remember you, but I remember you as somebody else.
DOYLE: I was somebody else. I was an officer. I quit to raise our two
sons so you could carry on in the service, but not for this. Not again.
I cannot take another heartbreak, Dylan.
HUNT: Look, I can't explain this. I just
SARA: Look at me. Do you love me or not?
HUNT: I don't know. I really don't, okay? I mean, I don't know where I
am, I don't know when I am, and I feel like any minute,
it's all just going to come crashing down and end.
SARA: But it doesn't have to! We have two beautiful boys. The
Commonwealth is safe. The only question remaining is do you
[Limbo]
ELYSIAN:
You're a long way from home, Dylan Hunt.
HUNT: Tell me something I don't know. Where am I?
ELYSIAN: You're in between. You're in danger. You can't control your
state.
HUNT: I don't know how you orchestrated all of this, but I must say you
do have my attention.
ELYSIAN: You are drifting between worlds, from one new body to the
next. You're getting further and further away from your home body.
HUNT: By drifting, you mean dreaming, and now you're going to kill me
again. What are you, my superego?
ELYSIAN: No. We are Elysian. You're safe with us, for now.
HUNT: The last time I checked, dreams offered poor protection. And
besides, you're only one guy. What's with this us thing?
ELYSIAN: You're human. A race of many in few worlds. We are Elysian.
We're a race of one in all worlds. Think of the body like an antenna.
The part you humans call soul, personality, conscience, it's like a
frequency picked up by the body. We Elysians
can release from and move to any one body in all realities. We're
infinite, and yet we're only one one in every universe, and every one
aware of each other.
HUNT: Just like Trance. That's why you've been haunting me, to help me.
And the hallucinations are real, all of them. Alternate Dylans.
So, what am I? Am I a ghost? Am I dead?
[Slipstream
control]
HARPER:
We've got to cut him open, now. You and me.
TRANCE: Don't you worry.
HARPER: Hurry, Trance.
TRANCE: Be prepared. This is going to smell. Dylan? Dylan?
[Limbo]
HUNT: My
god. The operation's happening. They're operating on me right now,
aren't they? That means there's still time to stop the blowout.
How do I get back?
ELYSIAN: Evas are fees. See you cave.
HUNT: I won't let innocent people die because you won't be straight
with me. Now, tell me how.
ELYSIAN: You need to understand this on your own. Evas are fees. See
you cave. It's your move.
[Hunt's
quarters]
DOYLE:
Honey, are you okay?
HUNT: So this is all real.
DOYLE: Yes, this is real. This is reality, Dylan, and you can have it
all if you want it. You just have to choose.
HUNT: People are, people are going to die. I can't just abandon them.
DOYLE: You don't have to be everybody's hero, you know? You could just
come home with me.
HUNT: I wish I could. I like this. It's worlds apart from the life I
have right now, but
DOYLE: Do you love me? Yes or no.
HUNT: Yes. But I can't stay. I'm sorry.
(Alarms. Rhade runs in.)
RHADE: We have trouble. We have big trouble. The mission we were on, it
wasn't sanctioned. I need to explain.
(Elysian and guards enter.)
ELYSIAN: Admiral Hunt, you're under arrest for high treason. You and
the commander are charged with selling maps and coordinates to
classified outposts.
Thanks to you, many have already fallen.
(Hunt powers up his forcelance.)
ELYSIAN: There's nothing for you here. Go home.
[Command]
HUNT:
I'm trying to. Damn you, Elysian. You're really starting to piss me
off! All right. Come on, I'm here. Come on, Elysian, where are you?
ELYSIAN: Evas are fees. See you cave.
HUNT: For the last time, I don't know anything about Eva. Evas.
(His hand is shaking.)
HUNT: It's so simple. Evas backwards is save. Evas are fees. Save
Seefra. Well, that's what I've been trying to do with the containment
breach. Evacuees. See you cave. Evacuees. Save Seefra evacuees. It's
not just Seefra One, it's people coming from Seefra Nine because I told
them that they would be safe here. I have to do something. I have to do
something. I. I have to wake up. Next time you want to tell me
something, just tell me!
ELYSIAN: Tell yourself, like you just did. You're on your own now.
HUNT: You're damn right I'm on my own. Damn right I'm on my own! All
right, Dylan. You have to wake up. Wake up, Dylan. Come on.
Wake up. Wake up. Wake up. Wake up. God, it's so painful. It hurts. It
hurts. It hurts.
Stop. Stop. Okay. Okay. Come on, Dylan. You have to. Come on, Dylan.
You have to.
I have to, I have to, I have to. I have to wake up!
RHADE: Dylan, wake up! Don't drift off!
[Slipstream
control]
RHADE:
It's almost over.
TRANCE: We almost lost you, Dylan.
HARPER: Just in time, boss. Another second, and you would have been
sleeping beauty for good. Hang in there.
HUNT: The generator.
HARPER: What?
HUNT: Exotic matter containment is at a hundred and fifteen percent.
HARPER: What? Why didn't the alarm blow? Shut it down.
HUNT: No, no, no. Trust me. We shut it down, Seefra's history.
HARPER: If we don't shut it down, it'll blow.
HUNT: Trust me. Andromeda.
ANDROMEDA [OC]: Yes, Captain.
HUNT: We have a potential exotic matter containment breach. Create a
b-vacuum to the generator with your ramscoop. Be ready.
(Alarms go off.)
BEKA: Harper?
HUNT: Andromeda, report.
ANDROMEDA [OC]: Diverting power to exotic matter drive. Initiating lens
control. Captain, slipstream is back online.
HARPER: Yes!
ANDROMEDA [OC]: I am one hundred percent functional. Oh, and breach
averted.
HUNT: Oh, that's good news. I've been waiting to hear that for a long,
long time.
HARPER: Glad you're okay, boss.
(Hunt falls backwards, and Rhade catches him.)
HARPER: Uh oh. Boss?
[Hunt's
quarters]
(Recovering
in bed, gazing at the photo of himself with the correct Sara.)
HUNT: Hey, Doyle.
DOYLE: Hi.
(She puts a tray across his lap.)
HUNT: Thank you.
DOYLE: Don't mention it. I understand you had quite a psychedelic
experience.
HUNT: Well, it was just some crazy dreams. Thanks for the tea.
DOYLE: Trance says dreams can sometimes be more. A part of you
travelling, even. Even if they were just dreams, I envy you.
I used to have dreams. Nightmares, really, but they just turned out to
be
HUNT: Rommie's core memory fragments trying to surface?
DOYLE: Yes. But once I accepted them, no more dreams.
HUNT: That's too bad.
DOYLE: I read once that humans find out a lot about themselves from
their dreams, about how they feel. Did you learn anything about your
feelings?
HUNT: No. Not at all.
DOYLE: Well, rest. Oh, by the way, The captain of the Signa Eruh is on
board. Rhade is outside waiting for him. Should we tell him
how close he and his cargo of Seefra Nine immigrants came to being
incinerated by the containment breach?
HUNT: Sure, why not? Let's tell him.
RHADE [OC]: Greetings, Captain. Welcome to the Andromeda.
ELYSIAN [OC]: Thank you. The flight was a little bit rough, but we're
here.
RHADE [OC]: I trust the Signa Eruh had a safe landing on Seefra One.
ELYSIAN [OC]: The landing was very smooth, yes.
[Corridor]
ELYSIAN:
We're just getting ready for orientation and relocation. The children
are a bit tired, but we're optimistic. Oh. Thank you, Captain. Thank
you very much.
HUNT: Don't mention it.
